Club communications

How we keep in touch.

We use Spond as our main club communication platform for weekly sailing updates, session sign-up and practical club information for parents and guardians.

Important

Club communication is with parents and guardians rather than directly with students.

Spond

Our main communication app for weekly sailing.

We use Spond as our main club communication platform for weekly sailing updates and session sign-up. It is the best place to receive notices, respond to events and stay up to date with the latest club information.

Join the group

To join the St George's Sailing Club group, please use this link:

We recommend installing the Spond app so that notifications and weekly sailing updates are easier to receive and manage.

Once you have joined, our Membership Secretary will be in touch, answer any questions, and share the consent forms needed before sailing can begin.

For student sailors Each week, parents or guardians will receive a Spond invitation for student sailors attending the next session.
For adult helpers Parents or guardians will also see a separate sign-up for adult helpers, so support can be planned clearly.
For updates Spond is our main channel for sailing weekend communication, practical updates and any changes affecting the session.

Facebook

Occasional updates beyond Spond.

In addition to Spond, we also post occasional updates on our Facebook page. This is a useful extra channel for general club news and shared moments from club life.

St Georges School Sailing Club

Facebook is not our primary operational channel, but it is a helpful place for occasional updates and broader club visibility.

What to use each channel for

  • Spond: weekly sign-up, practical sailing information, session notices and parent communication.
  • Facebook: occasional club updates and general community posts.
Travel and logistics

Car sharing is arranged parent to parent.

Parents may also use Spond to arrange car sharing between themselves. These arrangements are made parent to parent and are not organised or supervised by St George's Sailing Club CIC.

The CIC does not provide transport and is not involved in private lift-sharing arrangements between families.

Useful reminder We recommend that families treat transport arrangements as private matters between parents and make their own decisions accordingly.
